Though the club is open to anyone from either Brighton or Sussex Universities, or members of the public, it is administered entirely by Sussex, and so we must abide by their rules. One of these is that to take part in BSUS activities (this does not include socials, or any courses you do with SYC or BMYC, as they’re external, but does include Dinghy sailing and Nationals etc.), you must be a USSU Sport (previously known as SportsFed) member. Basically, you pay a one off yearly fee of £35, which covers the funding of all the Sussex clubs, allowing you to join as many or few as you like. You’ll also have to be a USSU Sport member to be covered by insurance companies, which when sailing, is pretty important.
